A source close to the matter revealed that many individuals being considered as potential running mates for former President Donald Trump have already received vetting materials. This comes as the race to complete the Republican ticket for 2024 approaches its final stretch, culminating in next month’s national party convention.
According to those in the know, the hunt for Trump’s running mate is still in its early stages, and it is not yet known whose candidates have been vetted.
Several people in the know about the discussions inside the campaign have said that Senator Marco Rubio of Florida, Governor Doug Burgum of North Dakota, and Senator JD Vance of Ohio are among the leading candidates. Legislators Elise Stefanik of New York and Tim Scott of South Carolina are among those being considered.

In recent months, Trump has asked a long list of people for their opinions, including supporters, donors, and Mar-a-Lago resort members, and he has also floated a long list of names. During his campaign rallies and interviews, he frequently publicly endorses a number of these candidates.
Joining Trump at his New York criminal hush money trial and defending him on television are just two examples of how many of the possible selections have spent the past few weeks openly displaying their devotion to Trump. In the end, 34 instances of Trump manipulating company documents led to his conviction.
Trump named Scott, Burgum, Rubio, Vance, and Ben Carson—his former Housing and Urban Development secretary—among those he is considering as possible running mates in a Tuesday interview with Newsmax.
“We have some incredible individuals,” the ex-president remarked while listing their names. “However, it is my intention to keep it.”
The Republican National Convention in Milwaukee is scheduled to take place from July 15 to 18, and last month Trump told TMJ4 News that there was a “pretty good chance” he will name his running mate during the convention.
