Kamala Harris Threat: Virginia Man Charged with Making Violent Threats Against Vice President

A male from Virginia made an appearance in federal court on Monday to face charges related to murder threats made against Vice President Kamala Harris.

Legal documents show that Frank Lucio Carillo threatened various individuals on the conservative website Gettr, including Senator Harris, Vice President Joe Biden, FBI Director Christopher Wray, and a number of Arizona politicians.

The FBI discovered 4,359 posts made by Carillo “targeting various public officials,” one of which was Harris, in reaction to a subpoena.

Court records indicate that Carillo allegedly threatened to sever Harris’ eyes and detailed multiple methods for assassinating the vice president in multiple online posts.

According to the allegations, Carillo allegedly penned an expletive-laden rant in which he referred to Harris as a “b*tch” and expressed his desire for her to “suffer a slow agonizing death” along with the threat to “cut your eyes out.”

Court documents reference other such tweets, some of which contained explicit threats against the vice president and others. In 2023, he made an Islamophobic remark, writing, “go out with your guns and kill all Muslims.”

Agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigations showed up at Carillo’s residence initially in connection with the social media posts; when questioned why they were there, Carillo responded, “I posted it.” According to court filings, Carrillo reportedly stated, “I guess I’m gonna need a lawyer,” while seemingly speaking to himself.

A pistol he had acquired in 2023 and a rifle he had bought this year were among the two weapons seized from his residence by federal agents.

There will be a hearing on Thursday to decide whether Carillo will stay in jail until his case is resolved.
