Tulsi Gabbard's Trump Endorsement: A Bombshell That Could Shake Up the 2024 Race

In the US presidential election, former Democratic congressman Tulsi Gabbard has backed Republican nominee Donald Trump.

In 2020, Gabbard, a former soldier who served in Iraq, sought the Democratic nomination for president. Two years down the road, she severed ties with the party and went on to become a mainstay at right-wing gatherings and in the media.

“Under this administration, we are confronted with numerous wars on various fronts in different parts of the globe and we are more threatened with nuclear war than at any time in our history,” Gabbard said while addressing a National Guard Association conference in Detroit, Michigan, where Trump was also speaking.

This is just one of the many reasons I will stop at nothing to ensure that President Trump is re-elected and can resume his duties as head of state. Just because I have faith that getting us back from the verge of conflict will be his top priority.

Former Hawaii congresswoman and DNC vice chair Tulsi Gabbard accused Democratic contender Kamala Harris of trying to use America’s institutions as a weapon against Trump and herself, as well as against her political opponents.

“As Americans, we must unite in our rejection of this culture of political retaliation and abuse of power,” she further stated.

The declaration by Gabbard follows the decision of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a descendant of a Democratic dynasty, to halt his own bid for the presidency and instead support Trump, which was made a day earlier. Elon Musk, who calls himself “historically a moderate Democrat,” is among those who are supporting the old president.

Despite Gabbard’s endorsement, Democrats disregarded it. “Donald Trump’s Maga brand is so toxic that he’s resorted to touting support from off-putting extremists like RFK Jr and Tulsi Gabbard,” stated Alex Floyd, an RN for the Democratic National Committee swift reaction unit. There is a lot of similar ground between Trump and Gabbard. Both have been praised by radicals and white racists, have cheered the decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, and have campaigned for dangerous people who deny the legitimacy of elections.

“This fight is no longer between Democrats and Republicans,” Trump told the group on Monday, continuing his portrayal of Harris as a left-wing fanatic. Communism and freedom are at odds in this conflict.

This is a major battle. That’s why our movement has the support of millions of long-time Democrats, including those who supported FDR and JFK as well as independents and classic liberals. The results of our poll are excellent.

Trump stated that he was unaware of Gabbard’s military service as a lieutenant colonel. “She’s an exceptional individual,” he chimed in. Her spirit and common sense are remarkable. She has deep affection for both our nation and each and every one of you here today.

In the lead-up to next month’s televised presidential debate between Trump and Harris, Gabbard has been assisting Trump with preparations. On the debate stage in 2020, she criticized Harris’s record as a prosecutor; a footage from that event is widely shared in right-wing media.

Trump had previously attended a ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery to lay wreaths in observance of the third anniversary of a suicide bombing that occurred during the US withdrawal from Afghanistan and killed thirteen service men. In an attempt to pin the fatalities on Joe Biden and Harris, he claimed in Detroit that “the humiliation in Afghanistan set off the collapse of American credibility and respect all around the world.”.

On the anniversary of the attack on the Kabul airport, Harris released her own statement in which she expressed her grief at the loss of life of the thirteen service members. They are in my prayers, along with their loved ones, she continued. “The anguish and loss they have experienced have broken my heart.”
