Trump’s Promise to Women: Will He End Abortion?

Trump's North Carolina Blitz: Is This the Key to Victory?

At a rally in Pennsylvania on Monday night, former president Donald Trump positioned himself as a “protector” of women and asserted that American women will not be considered for abortion if he is elected.

“I used to believe that women liked me. Problems? I never knew I had any. Still, Trump lamented in Indiana, Pennsylvania, that “the fake news” is perpetuating the narrative that women dislike him. “That is unbelievable to me.”

The ex-president swore to put an end to what he called women’s “national nightmare” and said they are “less healthy,” “much poorer,” and “less safe” now than they were when he was president.

Why? Because I am here to keep you safe. I desire to serve as your guardian. It is my duty as president to safeguard you. I pray it doesn’t become a major deal for you. ‘Oh he wants to be their defender.’ I hope that’s not how the fake news goes. Yes, I am. “My duty as president is to safeguard you,” Trump declared.

“Women will be happy, healthy, confident and free,” he added. You won’t even consider having an abortion anymore.

Because reproductive rights are central to her candidacy, Vice President Kamala Harris has maintained the support of women throughout the presidential election. In terms of potential male voters, polls have showed that Trump is ahead, while Harris has a significant lead among female voters.

Since the Supreme Court, which is conservative and includes three Trump appointees, reversed Roe v. Wade’s nationwide abortion rights protections in 2022, allowing a patchwork of state-level restrictions, the Democratic Party has had a significant advantage on the issue of abortion during the campaign.

The decision has been a sore spot for Republicans in close races, and AWN polls show that the majority of Americans still don’t approve of it.

In a video obtained by WCMH-TV in Columbus, Ohio, Republican candidate for the US Senate Bernie Moreno said at a town hall meeting on Friday that abortion is the sole topic on which many suburban women vote and questioned the relevance of the issue for women over the age of 50.

While Moreno’s opponent, incumbent Senator Sherrod Brown, has already taken advantage of the statements, a representative for the senator later attempted to characterize them as “a tongue-in-cheek joke.”.

“All they can talk about is abortion,” Trump allegedly stated later in his Monday speech, seemingly addressing Democrats.

“The nation is disintegrating. There will be a third world war because abortion is all they can discuss. According to him, the Supreme Court’s decision in 2022 changed the game on abortion in a way that no one had anticipated. “That’s all they talk about, and it really no longer pertains,” he added.

In a post last week on his Truth Social platform, Trump hinted at his appeal to female voters on Monday night. He vowed to “fix all of that” after writing in all capital letters that American women “are more depressed and unhappy than they were four years ago.”
