Trump’s Surprising Message to Kamala Harris Supporters on ‘Meet the Press’

On Sunday, President-elect Donald Trump told NBC News’ “Meet the Press” that his inaugural address would be about togetherness, and he revealed his message to Americans who did not vote for him.

“I’m going to treat you every bit as well as I have treated the greatest MAGA supporters,” Trump said in response to a question about what he wants to say to those who didn’t vote for him.

Trump spoke with NBC News’ Kristen Welker on Sunday, his first major interview since winning the presidential election. Trump previously appeared in an interview with Welker in September 2023, as the NBC anchor’s first guest after taking over for longtime host Chuck Todd.

“These individuals are so committed to making America great again; it’s that easy. And I’m going to treat them the same way I treat MAGA. We’ll treat everyone well. “We want our country to succeed and to be safe,” the president-elect said.

Trump highlighted reducing crime and claimed that the United States was “under threat.” The president-elect also stated his desire to improve the country’s reputation.

“I want to treat everyone the same. “I want to treat them well,” Trump said.

“But we need to catch our country’s crooks. We have to reduce crime. People must be able to stroll across the street and purchase a loaf of bread without being shot. And that will happen. But I tell them, “I love you, and we’re going to work together.” And we’re going to bring it together. And do you know what will bring it all together? Success,” he declared.

Trump also told Welker that his inaugural address would center on a message of unity.

“It will be a message of unity, and I believe success promotes unity. That is something I have personally experienced. As previously stated, I experienced it during my first term. We will discuss togetherness and success. Making our country safer. We must keep people who do not belong in our country out. I know it doesn’t seem appealing, but we have to do it. “Basically, it’s going to be about bringing our country together,” Trump said, previewing his speech.

Following his victory, Trump spoke with MSNBC presenters Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough, who are among his most vocal adversaries in the media. He recently spoke with Fox News Digital on his second term.

“In order to Make America Great Again, it is very important, if not vital, to have a free, fair and open media or press,” stated President Donald Trump.

“I received a call from Joe Scarborough requesting a meeting for him and Mika, and I agreed that it would be a good thing if such meeting took place,” Mr. Trump stated. “We met at Mar-a-Lago on Friday morning at 8.”
Trump described the meeting as “extremely cordial.”

“Many things were discussed, and I very much appreciated the fact that they wanted to have open communication,” he told me. “In many ways, it’s too bad that it wasn’t done long ago.”
