Trump Slams CBS, ‘60 Minutes’: They Should Pay a ‘Big Price’

On Sunday, President Trump blasted CBS News and “60 Minutes” for two pieces they aired, saying the network should pay a “big price” for their criticism.

It is with great honor that I sue CBS Fake News, Paramount, and 60 Minutes for their outrageously deceitful reporting. Despite their best efforts, which included corruptly altering key answers to interview questions, their plan to fraudulently elect Kamala failed. After criticizing a “60 Minutes” episode, Trump took to social media to say, “They are not a ‘News Show,’ but a dishonest Political Operative simply disguised as ‘News.'” He stated that the show’s producers should be held accountable for their actions, both past and present.

On Sunday, “60 Minutes” included both Trump’s desire to buy Greenland and an interview with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

They ought to have their license revoked! It is my sincere hope that the FCC, under the leadership of its esteemed chairman Brendan Carr, would penalize their unconstitutional and criminal actions with the heaviest penalties and punishments possible. The CBS situation is far out of hand, on a grand scale, and someone ought to be held accountable,” Trump wrote in his statement.

In a another Sunday post, the president criticized CBS and “60 Minutes” for censoring an interview with former Vice President Kamala Harris that aired on the program prior to the 2024 election. In his complaint against CBS, Trump is suing for $20 billion, claiming that the network meddled in the election because of how it handled the interview.

There are two completely false tales about ‘TRUMP,’ and now they’re back at it again tonight. “The folks at CBS Fake News simply don’t understand!” the president said in an additional Truth Social post.

Months before they squared off in the 2024 presidential election, the president accused CBS of using misleading editing to help his Democratic opponent, Harris. Starting with a “word salad” response that Harris delivered to Bill Whitaker, a journalist for “60 Minutes,” during a preview of their interview on “Face the Nation,” the drama escalated when CBS aired a different version of the same topic during a primetime special, and Harris was roundly criticized for it.

The president of Ukraine, Zelenskyy, stated during his appearance with “60 Minutes” that the narrative surrounding Russia’s conflict with Ukraine was “prevailing” in the United States and under Trump’s administration.

After thinking about the tense conversation in the Oval Office in February with Trump and Vice President JD Vance, Zelenskyy spoke with journalist Scott Pelley about his feelings. Pelley pointed out that before their meeting, Zelenskyy had trouble arguing his case to Trump, especially after Trump called him a “dictator.”

“I believe, sadly, Russian narratives are prevailing in the U.S.,” said Zelenskyy. How can one continue to think that the Russians are not the aggressors and did not initiate this conflict while bearing witness to our losses and suffering and comprehending their actions? The impact of Russia’s media policy on the United States, its politics, and its leaders is immense.
