Biden's Age Targeted: Nikki Haley Launches Direct Salvo

One of the more overt assaults on Joe Biden’s age thus far in the 2024 campaign cycle came from Republican presidential contender Nikki Haley, who dropped the bombshell that Biden is “too old” in a new ad she released on Monday.

On camera, Haley states, “I’ll just say it: Biden’s too old” in the 30-second commercial titled “New Generation.”

Biden is 81 years old, and the 51-year-old former governor of South Carolina has consistently criticised him for his advanced age while promoting herself as a role model for younger generations. At her inaugural campaign event in February, she declared that the United States is “prepared to transcend the outdated ideologies and forgotten figures of yesteryear, and we are exceedingly prepared for a fresh cohort to spearhead our progress towards the foreseeable future.”

Don Lemon, who was a CNN host at the time, called Haley “prime” and criticised her for proposing “mental competency tests” for legislators over the age of 75.

America was “less safe” due to politicians’ apparently age-related gaffes, according to her earlier this year.

We will not stand by while Dianne Feinstein accepts a vote recommendation from an aide. Mitch McConnell’s inability to move from the podium is not a concern. During an appearance on CBS’s “Face the Nation” in September, she stated that Joe Biden must not lose track of his current whereabouts.

After defeating Donald Trump in 2020, Joe Biden became the oldest president-elect. He would be 86 years old when his second term ended. Even though he is 77 years old, Trump remains close behind the current GOP lead.

However, Haley did urge viewers to “leave behind the chaos and drama of the past with a new generation and new conservative president,” without mentioning the former president by name. Haley, who was Trump’s UN ambassador, has often used the word “chaos” to characterise the second term of Trump in office.

In national polls, Haley continues to lag far behind Trump. On the other hand, she has succeeded in winning over Republicans who aren’t already Trump loyalists in the early voting state of New Hampshire.

There was a delay in a response from a Biden campaign spokesman.
