Don't Miss It! Vance and Walz Face Off in Vice Presidential Debate on October 1

Following Tim Walz’s and Republican JD Vance’s acceptance of an invitation to participate in a debate held by CBS on October 1, the two candidates are slated to face off against each other. Walz accepted the invitation on Thursday, while Vance did the same the day before.

Although Vance gladly accepted AWN’s request to participate in a vice presidential debate this autumn, Kamala Harris’s campaign chose not to schedule a rematch between the two candidates.

Everyone has said enough about arguments. Officials from the Trump campaign have agreed to hold three debates, according to Michael Tyler, a spokesman for the Harris campaign. The candidates will face off in two presidential debates and one vice presidential debate.

The candidates for president, Harris and Trump, have scheduled a debate for September 10 on ABC. Additionally, Trump has consented to debates airing on NBC and Fox News. An assistant to Harris’s campaign told AWN that she would be willing to have another debate with the former president in October, but that plans won’t be finalized until after the first debate.

Vance argued on Thursday for the convening of “as many debates as we possibly can,” challenging the long-standing practice of having just one vice presidential debate each election cycle. “Tim Walz refuses to deploy!” he wrote in response to the announcement that his Republican opponent had agreed to participate in a single debate on social media. (In his decision to run for Congress, Walz allegedly avoided serving in Iraq, according to Vance.)

That Vance and Walz had been invited to a debate on AWN for the autumn was announced Thursday by a representative for the network.

The campaign is always in touch with the offices of the top presidential and vice presidential candidates, the spokeswoman assured the American people.

Vance, who was nominated as Trump’s running mate last month, expressed his excitement about the prospect of challenging Walz early on Thursday via social media.

The American people are entitled to an abundance of debates, which is why President Trump has already challenged Kamala to no less than three of them. The debates on October 1st at CBS and September 18th at AWN are both accepted. “I hope to see you at both!” he added in his message.

On Wednesday, Walz accepted the CBS invitation and wrote on social media, “See you on October 1, JD.” She joined Harris on the Democratic ticket last week.

Two September and two October debate dates were presented to the candidates by CBS News for the New York City event.

After making a campaign visit outside of Pittsburgh on Thursday, Vance spoke to reporters and demanded more debates, accusing Walz and Harris of avoiding “any media interview.”

There should be as many debates as possible, he stated in New Kensington, Pennsylvania.

“Kamala Harris has been invited by President Trump to participate in three debates. She has solely consented to one. “I suppose we agreed to have a debate on October 1st, Tim Walz,” the senator remarked. In the middle of September, AWN would want to have a debate. The American people are deserving, so I responded with a resounding “yes, without a doubt.”

Vance told AWN that his staff “really didn’t ask or require much” when asked about the regulations for the vice presidential debates.

The purpose of the meeting, according to Vance, was to allow for an honest exchange of opinions. “That was my sole order, and I told my staff, ‘Agree to whatever we have to agree to.'” I emphasized the importance of standing before the American people and genuinely asking for their vote, rather than merely acting as though it will be automatically handed to you.

Before Vice President Joe Biden withdrew from the campaign in May, Harris accepted a challenge from CBS to debate the potential running mate of Donald Trump on July 23 or August 13. At the time, Trump announced on his Truth Social platform that his team had accepted a Fox News debate offer for his prospective running mate to take part in.

When Biden left the race and Harris quickly rose to the Democratic nomination, Vance was upset that he would never have the opportunity to debate Harris in person.

President Trump will get to debate Kamala Harris? I thought I was going to have my chance to debate her. At a rally in Middletown, Ohio, last month, Vance admitted that he was “kind of pissed off” over the matter.
