Drama Unfolds: 200+ Patients Rescued as Los Angeles Hospital Battles Hilary-Linked Blackout

On Wednesday, city officials in Pittsburgh declared that a shooting situation was “extremely active” in the city.

As of now, shots are “continuing to be fired” after a suspect opened fire on police from the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office while they attempted to evict him from his home in the Garfield neighbourhood.

Police are evacuating the area and officials are telling people to stay away.

People on the 4800 block of Broad St. are being evacuated by police. At 12:11 on Wednesday, the Pittsburgh Police Department issued a tweet.

“If you are inside, stay still, call 911, and provide the operator your exact street address and location. The officers who enter will assist you in finding a secure location.

In the preceding hour, police had issued a warning to residents of the Garfield neighbourhood to “avoid the 4800 block of Broad Street and N. Mathilda Street due to an active shooting situation.”

Pittsburgh Public Safety has stated, “This is an extremely active situation with shots continuing to be fired.”

Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Mike Manko said that authorities have not officially named the suspect, but that there is only one.

The FBI has stated that it is aiding Pittsburgh police and the sheriff’s office, but has declined to further.
