Elon Musk, who was charged by President Donald Trump with leading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) endeavor, stated in a social media post that “hysterical reactions” highlight the necessity of DOGE’s efforts.
He made the statement in response to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-New York.
“An unelected shadow government is conducting a hostile takeover of the federal government,” says a tweet on Sen. Schumer’s @SenSchumer X account, mirroring the lawmaker’s words at a news conference.
“DOGE is not an actual government agency. DOGE has no power over expenditure choices. DOGE has no jurisdiction to stop down programs or disregard federal legislation. DOGE’s actions cannot be tolerated. “Congress must take action to restore the rule of law,” Schumer wrote.
Musk referred to the attempt to reduce government waste and bureaucracy as a one-time chance.
“Hysterical reactions like this are how you know that @DOGE is doing work that really matters,” he replied to Schumer.
“This is the one opportunity the American people have to overcome BUREAUcracy, the rule of bureaucrats, and restore DEMOcracy, the rule of the people. We’ll never have another chance like this. It’s now or never. “Your support is critical to the success of the people’s revolution,” he declared.
The business entrepreneur dubbed DOGE “the wood chipper for bureaucracy.”
“If the Treasury Secretary does not immediately remove DOGE’s access to the Treasury payment systems: Congress must act,” states another tweet repeating Schumer’s remarks at the news conference. “That is why @RepJeffries and I will collaborate on legislation to prevent illegal interference in the Treasury Department’s payment systems. We must secure people’s Social Security, Medicare, and tax returns from any interference by DOGE or other illegitimate entities.
Musk stated in a post that “Doge has not looked at, nor is there any interest in, private financial data.” What exactly would we do with it? The outgoing payment evaluation procedure only looks into probable fraud and excessive spending by companies. Corrupt politicians are whining. “I wonder why?”
