An expert on China told AWN Digital that the arrests should serve as a wake-up call to China after reports of two Chinese citizens being prosecuted with allegedly bringing a “dangerous biological pathogen” into the US to attend a US institution.
“I was entirely unsurprised, which is a sad commentary, but it speaks to the Chinese Communist Party, the CCP wants to kill Americans,” Michael Sobolik, a senior fellow at the Hudson Institute focusing on U.S. and China relations, told AWN Digital following FBI Director Kash Patel’s announcement of the two Chinese nationals’ arrests.
“Look at what they’ve done with smuggling fentanyl precursors into our country to kill Americans, look at the effects of them failing to stop the spread of COVID-19,” added Sobolik. Native Americans who have passed away. That they want to use bioweapons and infectious diseases on citizens of the United States is astounding. This is the Communist Party of China. They engage in this activity. The United States and them are engaged in a cold war. The globe will be secure for their dictatorship and dangerous for freedom if they achieve their goal of being the most powerful nation in the world. Even here at home, they are preparing to attack.
The pair is facing charges related to the importation of Fusarium graminearum, a fungus that has been described in scientific literature as a “potential agroterrorism weapon,” according the Justice Department. According to federal prosecutors, the harmful fungus “is responsible for billions of dollars in economic losses worldwide each year” and produces “head blight,” a disease that affects wheat, barley, maize, and rice.
Fusarium graminearum is blamed by the Justice Department for causing nausea, liver damage, and “reproductive defects in humans and livestock.”
One of the defendants reportedly benefited from financial support from the Chinese government while researching the virus in China, as stated in the criminal complaint.
The couple’s alleged involvement in importing the disease to the United States to be studied in a lab affiliated with the University of Michigan has heightened worries over the presence of Chinese nationals at American academic institutions.
According to a student publication, Chinese Communist Party spies have probably infiltrated Stanford and other prominent institutions around the country to collect intelligence, as revealed in a bombshell report that came out of Stanford last month.
“The Chinese Communist Party is addicted to American higher education,” Sobolik told AWN Digital. It has been dependent on the cheap money that has flowed in from Beijing for many years. China’s embassies and consulates across the world use it as a springboard to recruit overseas students who pay full tuition in the hopes that they will spy for the Chinese government and report back.
Colleges and colleges in the United States must cease ignoring the danger posed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). They are tools for gathering information. They spread the dangers that Americans face right here at home. I will not abide by that. To have any real meaning for sovereignty, we must have the ability to defend Americans within our own borders. Also, colleges and institutions can’t keep siding with the Chinese Communist Party.
Two Chinese nationals are facing charges of importing a “dangerous biological pathogen” into the United States for academic study, although an envoy from China denied knowledge of the matter on Wednesday.
Officials from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Embassy in the United States issued a statement saying, “I don’t know the specific situation, but I would like to emphasize that the Chinese government has always required overseas Chinese citizens to abide by local laws and regulations and will also resolutely safeguard their legitimate rights and interests.” Liu Pengyu addressed the matter.
