Facing the Age Factor: Biden's Candid Campaign Ad

In a new campaign ad that was published on Saturday, President Joe Biden played into the age issue by highlighting his record as president.

“Listen, I’m not a young man. The president made that claim right at the beginning of the advertisement. “However, let me explain. “The American people can rely on me because I know how to get things done,” he added.

As Biden travels to Georgia in preparation for Tuesday’s primary election, the commercial is part of a $30 million advertising push in states that are considered to be battlegrounds.

Concerns about Biden’s mental acuity have arisen from both liberals and conservatives due to his advanced age, which has been a recurring theme throughout his reelection campaign.

While Biden and his allies have denied these allegations time and time again, President Obama seemed to make progress on the matter with his powerful State of the Union speech on Thursday, which included a mention to his age.

During his remarks, Biden added, “I know I may not look like it, but I’ve been around a while.”

In the ad, the president continued by praising his administration’s handling of the COVID-19 outbreak, the economy, and his other legislative successes.

As the commercial came to a close, there was a cut sequence that included Biden making a joke about how young, vibrant, and handsome he is.
