According to police, the crash killed four boys and one girl. A nine-year-old child was the only survivor and was rushed to the hospital with injuries.
Five children, aged eight to seventeen, were killed in a plane crash in the United States.
When the vehicle drove off Hutchinson River Parkway in Scarsdale, New York, police believe it was being driven by a 16-year-old kid.
The car then collided with a tree and caught fire early Sunday morning.
The victims’ identities have not been revealed.
According to NBC, the casualties include four boys and a girl from Connecticut, a state to the west of New York.
The lone survivor was the sixth person in the car, a nine-year-old child.
According to a Westchester County Police spokesperson, he was rushed to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
According to police, he was in the back of the automobile when it crashed and was able to flee.
The children were discovered to be members of a family that had recently relocated to the county from New York, according to the superintendent of schools in Derby, Connecticut.
“It’s unfathomable,” Matthew Conway Jr. said.
“Having to now make plans for five of your children to be buried is a very tough thing for anyone – one child, let alone five,” Mr Conway remarked.
He stated that he had contacted the parent and offered him help and information.
