Iowa's Political Hub: Trump's Campaign Headquarters Revealed

The blizzard has rendered central Iowa’s roadways virtually deserted. Volunteers and Trump campaign employees were busy canvassing voters in the hours leading up to Monday night at Donald Trump’s Iowa campaign headquarters in Urbandale.

Assembly of yard signs was underway on one side of the generic office facility that had been transformed into MAGA HQ by women adorned in rhinestone MAGA hats and pink Trump hoodies. Additionally, while making calls and snacking on pizza, volunteers with Trump stickers on their shirts crossed names off a list. A massive “Fathead” sticker depicting a serious scowl on Trump’s forehead loomed over everything.

Melissa Davis, a Des Moines-based healthcare worker, began volunteering for the cause four months ago. Davis claimed she has been trying to persuade people who are still on the fence that Trump is the best choice while wearing a white “Trump caucus captain” hat that was autographed by the previous president.

In her remarks on the caucuses on Monday night, she expressed her confidence in the quality of the debates and the level of representation that Trump would receive.

Volunteers from other states had flown in to provide a help as well.

University of Wisconsin–Madison student Billy Blathras, 20, and a few other college Republicans travelled in last night to do phone banking.

“Based on my observations of the calls, it is not surprising that the majority of them lead to President Trump, given his significant lead over his opponents,” he stated.

He found it interesting that Arizona Senate candidate Kari Lake spoke to the crowd while chatting with volunteers and taking pictures.

Volunteering has taken Dallas Centre, Iowa native Shellie Flockhart out of the headquarters. She owns a beauty salon and has argued for Trump’s candidature with her customers. Speaking with others about Trump has been “far more beneficial than detrimental,” in her opinion.

In most cases, the few bad apples are the ones who act aggressively and curse a lot. One of the best things about living in a free country is that everyone has the right to their own viewpoint. “Most people are ecstatic, they want him to be on the ballot, and they are furious about the state of our country,” she added.

When it comes to Monday’s forecast? No, she wasn’t concerned.

“We have individuals set up with snowmobiles needed in the caucus location,” she stated. “Iowa is our home. Nothing new here.
