ISIS Mastermind Apprehended: US Military's Triumph in Syria Helicopter Raid

On Saturday, US forces conducted a helicopter operation in northern Syria, and on Monday, US Central Command reported that they had seized an ISIS official.

On September 23, 2023, U.S. Central Command forces carried out a successful helicopter raid in northern Syria. According to the CENTCOM press release, “Abu Halil al-Fad’ani, an ISIS Syria Operational and Facilitation official, was captured during the raid.” It was determined that Al-Fad’ani had connections with members of the ISIS network throughout the region.

The statement claims that the raid had no negative effects on civilians.

Lt. Col. Troy Garlock, a spokesman for CENTCOM, stated in a press release that “the capture of ISIS officials like al-Fad’ani increases our ability to locate, target, and remove terrorist from the battlefield.” US Central Command still believes in permanently crushing ISIS.

According to CENTCOM, eight partner operations were carried out in Syria in August, resulting in the capture or death of seven ISIS members. During August’s operations in Iraq, 18 agents were captured and 6 were killed.

In April, a helicopter raid in Syria netted the detention of “ISIS attack facilitator” Hudayfah al Yemeni and two of his accomplices.
