A severe warning was just delivered to Donald Trump’s attorneys by Justice Juan Merchan.
A potential juror was interrogated by Trump’s lawyer, Todd Blanche, before she exited the room. The judge then scolded Trump for muttering.
Merchan stated, “Your client was audibly uttering something,” but he was unable to decipher Trump’s exact words. Then I will not stand for it. In this courtroom, I will not tolerate intimidation of any juror. That needs to be made very obvious.
Blanche was told by Merchan to tell Trump to stop by her. During Merchan’s speech, Trump appeared to be lounging on his chair.
The court has reprimanded Trump before for making comments that were audible to the jury. Trump mumbled the words “witch hunt” under his breath in front of a jury in January during his civil defamation trial against E. Jean Carroll. In response to the comment, the judge hearing the case threatened to expel the ex-president from the courtroom.
