New Senator Stunned by Democrat Reaction to Musk's DOGE Findings

West Virginia’s new Republican senator, Jim Justice, is criticizing Democrats in the Senate for standing in the way of Trump administration efforts to reduce spending. Justice claims that the government spends too much money.

After seizing office in November, Justice—who had previously held a Senate seat held by Democrats—said he was stunned by what he had seen in Washington.

On Friday’s “The Faulkner Focus,” the former governor of West Virginia announced, “I’m a new kid on the block in the Senate.”

“Watching the liberal Democrats in Washington, D.C., is absolutely shocking to me.”

Justice, a Trump supporter, has lent his support to the administration’s latest effort to cut expenditure.

In a post last month on X, Justice announced his support for President Trump’s DOGE Initiative, along with 25 other Republican governors. Reducing red tape, eliminating unnecessary expenditure, and achieving fiscal stability are the primary objectives. Alright, let’s get this done.

The decision by DOGE to withhold millions in government funding has been justified by him. Among the programs cut from the Department of Education’s budget was over $100 million for diversity, equality, and inclusion (DEI) training.

“We don’t need to be sending tens of millions of dollars to people to teach them about Sesame Street or tens and tens of millions of dollars to terrorist groups to absolute teach them DEI,” Justice added, alluding to expenditures that was found by DOGE.

On the other hand, Democrats have voiced their disapproval of the administration’s efforts to save costs, claiming that initiatives such as DEI training are vital for federal agencies to uphold principles of equity and inclusion.

Refuting the Democrats’ claims that they were protecting wasteful expenditure, Justice fought back.

In an effort to save taxpayers more than $150 million, DOGE said on Wednesday that it has terminated 58 government contracts. According to Trump, DOGE has recently found “massive amounts” of waste, fraud, and ineptitude in government expenditures, and he has lauded this effort.

Justice pleaded with Congress to permit Trump’s staff to go on their job unimpeded.

“At the end of the day, we elected President Trump, and let him do his job,” added Mr. Trump. “For crying out loud, let him get his team in place and let him do his job.”

“The United States of America needs to get its act together and get itself back on track…” The fact that Elon Musk is eager to help out without expecting anything in return is wonderful, Justice said.

He criticized Democrats, saying they were “running through the streets with their hair on fire” to try to “whip people up” and instill fear in Americans.

“That was the strategy they had in the election and they got their doors blown off.”
