Republicans are making gains in the Senate fight

In the struggle for control of the 50-50 Senate, Republicans are roaring back.

In areas where Democrats have been in the lead all summer, GOP candidates have been closing the gap, according to surveys, and in races that had seemed close for months, they may be pulling away.

Mehmet Oz and John Fetterman are getting extremely closer in Pennsylvania. Sen. Raphael Warnock and Herschel Walker are tied for first place in Georgia, and Sen. Mark Kelly’s lead in Arizona has shrunk thanks to Blake Masters. Additionally, according to Republican polls, Adam Laxalt will defeat Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto in Nevada.

Republicans who are firmly entrenched in red states are starting to develop more enduring advantages. According to recent polls, Republican candidates Ted Budd and J.D. Vance are pulling away from their Democratic rivals in Ohio and North Carolina, respectively.

The GOP’s surge in the Senate race is consistent with national polling that indicates an increase in support for Republicans on the general congressional ballot. This is because the GOP has the upper hand when it comes to handling the majority of the key issues in the midterm election, particularly the economy and inflation.

Additionally, the most recent polls support the AWN Election Forecast’s assessment that the race for Senate control is now a “Toss Up.” The GOP will take the majority if it wins at least three of the four “Toss Up” races in Georgia, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, barring a surprise elsewhere. Republicans are currently leading in Nevada and Wisconsin and lagging, albeit only, in Georgia and Pennsylvania, according to polling averages.
