In an interview that aired on Tuesday, Joe Biden warned that the greatest danger to American democracy comes from his predecessor, Donald Trump. Biden cited Trump’s behaviour during the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021, and his demands to release the inmates participating in the attack.
When asked about “the main danger to liberty and democracy at home,” Biden had a direct response: “Donald Trump.”
From the very beginning of his presidency, Donald Trump has made statements that suggest he will destroy the Constitution and establish himself as a dictator. The idea that he would sit in an office off the Oval Office and watch for hours the attack on the Capitol, the destruction, the mayhem, the people killed, the police officers who died, and then claim to be political heroes and patriots and promise to free them all if elected, because they’re being held illegally? I’ll show you the footage before you leave. During last week’s White House interview taped for Univision, Biden made the following statement.
Hispanics and other minority groups are the subject of his comments; he characterises them as — anyhow. It’s simply that, in my lifetime and throughout history, I don’t recall ever having someone with this type of mentality,” Biden went on to say. “He claims he will be a dictator from the very beginning?” He has no credibility.
On Tuesday night, the Spanish-language network will telecast the unusual sit-down interview. In an effort to differentiate himself from Trump, Biden has made democratic concerns key to his reelection campaign.
In their respective campaigns, Trump and Biden have cited the events of January 6th. A audio of inmates singing the national song has been playing at the beginning of Trump rallies since January 6. The president has referred to the rioters as “people who love our country” and “hostages unfairly imprisoned for long periods of time.”
