At times, Trump attorney Emil Bove’s attempt to portray Keith Davidson as a shake-down artist in his cross-examination of Davidson has grown contentious. In 2016, Davidson negotiated a $130,000 payment for his client Stormy Daniels; the questioning suggests that he extorted the money.
Over the course of Davidson’s career, Bove brought up a number of questionable legal claims involving famous people. Charlie Sheen, Hulk Hogan, Lindsay Lohan, and Tila Tequila are all parties involved in these lawsuits.
To give one example, Bove questioned Davidson about any potential state or federal investigations into his 2012 extortion allegations against Hogan. Davidson, who was representing those who had the professional wrestler’s sex film in their possession, said that he was.
Inquiring about an article that showed a still shot of the sex film on The Dirty, the website that broke the tale of the purported sexual encounter between Stormy Daniels and Trump, Bove spoke with Davidson.
When asked if he was the story’s source, Davidson said he was “not involved in that.”
He further denied being the one who characterized the contents of the Hogan sex tape in a 2015 article published by Dylan Howard, editor of the National Enquirer tabloid.
Davidson has been extremely cautious with his responses and has maintained throughout that he cannot remember the details that Bove has requested.
Bove probed Davidson multiple times to find out whether, in his legal dealings, he “extracted” money from famous people.
Davidson laid down the claims as follows: “We asserted that there was tortious activity committed and there were valid settlements executed.”
Bove finally snapped at Davidson, “Listen, we’re both lawyers,” as their relationship deteriorated. This is not the place for us to engage in legal wrangling. Davidson retaliated subsequently by saying, “Don’t say ‘extract.'” if the intention was not to engage in legal maneuverings.
