Trump's Move: Adams and Cuomo Receive Backing Amid Sexual Misconduct Claims

As New York City Mayor Eric Adams and former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo are both embroiled in fresh sexual misconduct lawsuits—with Adams’ accusation extending back decades—formalized, former President Donald Trump has voiced his support for the two men.

Trump expressed his hope that Adams, Cuomo, and “all of the others that got sued based on this ridiculous law where someone can be sued decades later, and with no proof, will fight it on being totally unfair and UNCONSTITUTIONAL” on Truth Social early Wednesday.

Last week, when the New York legislation was about to expire, litigation pertaining to the Adult Survivors Act arose, and Trump was making reference to them. The statute of limitations had previously precluded victims of sexual assault from suing over prior assaults, but the measure extended that time by two years.

The former aide of Cuomo, who resigned as governor in 2021 in the wake of sexual harassment claims levelled against him by about a dozen women, is suing him after prosecutors in Albany County abandoned his criminal case. Adams faced a sexual assault lawsuit in 1993 when a woman accused him of the crime. The mayor’s representative denied knowing the plaintiff, whose identity AWN is withholding.

Over the years, Trump has been the target of multiple accusations of sexual misconduct. Trump was convicted guilty of abuse and slander earlier this year by a New York jury. E. Jean Carroll, a journalist, accused him of striking her in a dressing room at Bergdorf Goodman in 1996. A jury decided to give Carroll $5 million.

Years later (she has no clue when her fictional event actually occurred!) a woman who I had no clue was suing me. According to Trump, “political operatives brought and funded it for purposes of Election Interference,” therefore it was a made-up story.
