In his inaugural address to the Saudi Arabian audience, President Trump took aim at Iran, telling Tehran that it must decide whether to live under his fury or never possess nuclear weapons.
Trump warned business executives in Riyadh that “we will have no choice but to inflict massive maximum pressure” if Iran’s leadership refuses the peace gesture and continues to attack their neighbors.
“They get to decide,” he murmured.
Despite Trump’s stated desire to reach an agreement with Iran and see Tehran’s prosperity, his remarks followed an attack on the Iranian system, which he claimed was harming not only Iran but the whole region.
The officials of Iran have made embezzling their people’s riches their top priority in order to finance international terrorism and carnage. Trump lamented that the group has brought an entire area crashing down with them.
The president blamed Iran’s backing of Hezbollah for the loss of Beirut, which he referred to as “once called the Paris of the Middle East.” He also brought up the “countless lives lost” in Iran’s attempted support of the previous Bashar al-Assad administration in Syria, which crumbled in December.
“Can you imagine all of this misery and so much more was entirely avoidable, absolutely avoidable,” remarked the president.
According to Trump, the easing of sanctions on Tehran by the Biden administration was the main means by which Iran funded terrorist groups like Hamas, which in turn led to the tragic assaults on Israel on October 7, 2023.
In order to get President Joe Biden’s statement on Trump’s accusations, AWN Digital contacted a spokeswoman for Biden.
“If only the Iranian regime had focused on building their nation up instead of tearing the region down,” he said. Despite my earlier statements denouncing Iran’s leaders for their previous anarchy, I am here today to offer them a new and improved way forward, one that I believe will lead to a brighter and more optimistic future.
“In the case of Iran, I have never believed in having permanent enemies,” remarked the president. You become inspired by your enemies.
“In fact, some of the closest friends of the United States of America are nations we fought wars against in generations past,” Donald Trump said.
How Trump’s harsh words about Tehran will affect the current nuclear talks with Iran are anybody’s guess.
In response to inquiries from AWN Digital, the Iranian envoy to the United Nations Mission in New York took some time to react.
