What Jasmine Crockett Just Said Will Infuriate Millions

On Thursday’s episode of her “Next Question” podcast, Democratic Texas Representative Jasmine Crockett spoke with host Katie Couric on the “mental health crisis” in America and how those who back former President Trump are “sick.”

The congresswoman from Texas asserted that all Americans, regardless of their political leanings, “should be against Trump.”

Crockett severely criticized Trump for pursuing “retribution” and having his own “special little army” to carry it out when Couric questioned her opinion on Trump’s deployment of National Guardsmen and Marines to Los Angeles to suppress the anti-ICE protesters.

“It is sick, it is really sick and anybody that supports it is also sick,” Couric said. It doesn’t matter what party you identify with; everyone should be opposed to Trump, and yet we have a national mental health problem. It ends there.

Crockett insisted that her criticisms of Trump and his followers are not political opinions and that she would welcome the return of “regular” Republicans to leadership.

“I would give anything to have — it’s sad to say — George Bush, like give me any regular Republican nowadays and I would be happy,” added the woman. “But right now we have someone who does not care, and he is being enabled by the fact that there are, you know, people that follow him, and they pump him up.”

The lawmaker from Texas also shared her sorrow for the troops, who, in her view, face ideological dangers at home much as they do overseas.

“My heart breaks for service members — people that signed up to protect democracy and freedom — not only here but abroad and were willing to risk their lives and now literally, the very thing that they signed up to fight against is now their commander-in-chief,” according to her. “It really breaks my heart and I don’t know how far he has to go before we can come together and just say enough is enough.”

After that, Crockett went after Republican Party members who back Trump’s agenda, accusing them of betraying their oath to the Constitution.

She argued that Republicans would not uphold their oath to the Constitution, to which Couric responded, “Why not?”

“All I know is that they’re scared. That’s about it. What Crockett really meant was that they are cowards. “Anyone that potentially would do right — they would rather preserve their opportunity to still be associated with the Republican Party and not be ostracized and not be targeted by MAGA and just resign.”

Karoline Leavitt, the press secretary for the White House, took issue with Crockett’s comments during Thursday’s briefing and suggested that the congresswoman go to a Trump rally to witness the magnitude of the president’s support.

“The last time I checked, Jasmine Crockett couldn’t dream of winning such a majority of the public as President Trump did,” according to her.
