In a Thursday night address at an Iowa rally, President Trump revealed plans to honor the military jet crew that carried out the attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities on Independence Day at the White House.
As an affront to the “great” American service personnel who carried out the mission, Trump said he disagreed with initial media accounts that the Iranian attacks had partially damaged the targets.
“Do you recall when CNN said it hadn’t been destroyed? Perhaps it was injured or severely harmed, but to say it was demolished would be too harsh. No, it was completely destroyed. “That’s now been proven,” Trump stated.
“They were trying to demean me by saying that, but they were really demeaning those great pilots and people and mechanics that got those planes over there and were able to shoot from high up in the air, going very, very fast, with potentially a lot of things being shot at them, and hit every single one,” according to him. They claim they’re trying to put down me, but I felt like they were putting down themselves. After disembarking, they said, “What?” Every single target was struck by us. No one knows it better than them.
“These people did one of the greatest military hits and maneuvers in the history of our country, and I want them to be appreciated for it,” he said. Yes, they are on their way. Their arrival to the White House is scheduled for tomorrow night.
“They’re going to be in Washington tomorrow at the White House, and we’re going to be celebrating.”
Trump said that the White House will be hosting the pilots and the rest of the flight crew, including “the people that flew the other planes” and “the mechanics that had these planes going for 37 hours without a stop.”
Russia and China were both keeping tabs. He made it clear that everyone was observing. When it comes to equipment, we are unrivaled. The people here are second to none, and our military is unmatched by any other nation.
During his Thursday address, Trump also asserted that Iran had contacted the White House to clear the attack before launching their retaliatory strike on the U.S. military station in Qatar.
They contacted me to inform me that they must target us. We were in Iran. Extremely polite. We dropped 14 bombs, so they must respect us. Our representatives have expressed a desire to fire fourteen rounds at you. “Go ahead, I understand,” he said.
They even mentioned the location. It was good, I remarked. We left the fort in its bare form. He marveled at the picturesque Qatari military base and how the personnel there treated them with the utmost respect.
According to Trump, Iran even asked what time of day would be suitable for a retaliatory strike.
Their question was, ‘Sir, is 1:00 okay?’ After I assured them it was alright, they said, “We could make it later.” “And there were only four gunners on our team,” he remarked. “They just announced, ‘We’re ready.'” They were also a bit anxious about really doing it. I should probably just tell you that these Iranians were kind enough to phone me and inform me that they want to shoot me fourteen times, so I guess you could say that they want to shoot us all. I then told them to go ahead. These four incredible marksmen consistently intercepted and destroyed all fourteen of their high-grade, extremely fast missiles. Oh, and they were effective in their assignments. That was the final chapter.
