Multiple administration officials, including at least three National Security Council workers, have been let go from the White House, three people with knowledge of the action informed HEADLINESFOREVER.
The firings followed far-right activist Laura Loomer, who once said 9/11 was an inside job, urging President Donald Trump during a Wednesday meeting to remove several National Security Council staff members, including his principal deputy national security adviser, alleging they are disloyal.
According to one of the individuals, Loomer had gathered around a dozen names and the following firings were directly related to the meeting with Loomer, an important Trump advocate during his 2024 campaign last autumn.
Among those not Wednesday sacked was Principal Deputy National Security Adviser Alex Wong. One White House official, though a last choice is still pending, guessed Wong may be gone as early as today.
Wong was among the advisers Loomer expressly attacked, who openly challenged his devotion to Trump and called him a “Never Trumper” in private.
One of the sources speculated that National Security Adviser Michael Waltz may have been hesitant to fire Wong given his involvement in the controversy surrounding the leak of contentious Signal messages connected to military operations on Yemen that Waltz and his team have been under fire for starting.
The three officials fired are David Feith, a senior director supervising national security and technology who worked in the State Department under Trump’s first administration; Thomas Boodry, a senior director for legislative affairs who formerly worked as Waltz’s legislative director in Congress; and Brian Walsh, a director for intelligence and former top staffer for now-Secretary of State Marco Rubio on the Senate Intelligence Committee.
NSC spokesperson Brian Hughes stated in a HEADLINESFOREVER statement, “NSC doesn’t comment on personnel issues.”
Every one of the sacked officials went through the same screening process handled by now-director of the Presidential Personnel Office, Sergio Gor, during the previous several months, which included inquiries about commitment to Trump’s objectives.
Loomer didn’t specify the meeting but said she’d “keep stressing the need of rigorous vetting.”
Loomer said on HEADLINESFOREVER on Thursday, “Out of respect for President Trump and the privacy of the Oval Office, I’m going to decline on divulging any details about my Oval Office meeting with President Trump.” Meeting with President Trump and giving him my results was a privilege; I will keep working to further his program and stressing the need of rigorous vetting to safeguard the President and our national security.
The event emphasizes the power such voices have in Trump’s second administration as it is the second time a far-right activist from conservative new media has been connected to the dismissal of national security personnel.
Activist Christopher Rufo, who has been known to spread false claims that Haitian immigrants were consuming house pets in Ohio during the campaign, released internal records indicating staff members supposedly trading explicit messages in National Security Agency chat rooms. Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard within days declared she had fired individuals in light of the findings.
First reported by The New York Times, the Oval Office meeting with Loomer occurred as the president and his economic team were getting ready to announce tariffs in the Rose Garden.
When Loomer came for a meeting with Trump, Waltz had been in the Oval Office for prior meetings and remained as the president talked with Loomer.
Waltz has come under more fire from Trump administration officials and those close to the president for establishing the Signal channel where classified intelligence about an upcoming US strike on Houthi rebels in Yemen was exchanged. Although Trump has stated publicly that he is supporting Waltz and senior White House officials claim he has no intention to dismiss him, many insiders with knowledge of behind-the-scenes talks tell HEADLINESFOREVER that Trump is waiting to see how everything unfolds.
Two individuals acquainted with his schedule claimed Waltz is accompanying Trump to Miami on Thursday before the LIV Golf event at the president’s Doral club, including leaving the White House on Marine One.
Sources familiar with the discussion claimed Susie Wiles, White House chief of staff, was present for the Wednesday meeting among advisors trying to limit Loomer’s access to Trump during the campaign. Attending as well were Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, who welcomed Loomer to the White House on Wednesday and led her into the West Wing; Vice President JD Vance; and White House Communications Director Steven Cheung.
A strong Trump supporter who was also there, Pennsylvania GOP Rep. Scott Perry came with a list of staff issues to address with the president, one source informed HEADLINESFOREVER. He was not originally set to see the president with Loomer, though.
Though one assistant said Wiles and Gor’s attendance highlighted it was a sanctioned meeting, it was unknown when the Loomer meeting was scheduled.
Among the advisors facing accusations from MAGA world about Waltz is Gor, regarded as one of the president’s most devoted aides.
A former Florida congressional candidate, Loomer has built a career on seeking controversy.
Emerging from the extreme right-wing online environment, she has consistently pushed internet businesses’ readiness to uphold their terms of service. Once calling herself a “proud Islamophobe,” she tweeted in 2018 that “someone needs to create a non Islamic form of Uber or Lyft because I never want to support another Islamic immigrant driver.” Eventually, she was banned from Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, now known as X. Loomer said last autumn to HEADLINESFOREVER that she is not “anti-Muslim.”
Loomer, who previously shared a video on social media asserting the attack on the World Trade Center towers was a “inside job,” joined Trump last autumn as he interacted with firemen to mark the anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attack.
Loomer frequently showed up at Trump-speaking engagements during the campaign, and her loud social media postings occasionally seemed to foreshadow Trump’s following line of assault. Some thought it was not accidental since Trump mentioned immigrants “eating the pets” of Ohioans during his debate with then-Vice President Kamala Harris, alluding to the claim spread online notably by Loomer, who was observed deboarding Trump’s private jet before the debate.
Loomer also said during the campaign that if Harris, who is partially Indian, won, “the White House will smell like curry & White House speeches will be facilitated via a call center.”
